Zirbenweg XL

The next few weeks are your last chance to experience this run! And now is the perfect time because of the stunning autumn colors. Patscherkofel cable car will close on October 29th, so make sure you don’t miss out on it!

Now, let’s talk about the route. The Zirbenweg XL offers many opportunities to explore the Swiss stone pine trees (Zirben in German) on Patscherkofel and is the largest of its kind in the Alpine region, making it truely unique. It’s a beautiful panoramic trail and the classic among the easy hiking trails in Tirol. Making it perfect for running. It offers stunning views of the surrounding mountain peaks of the Karwendel and the Inntal. The oldest Swiss pine trees here are 250 years old, and the oldest one in the “Ampasser Kessel” is over 700 years old. From May onwards, a sea of alpine roses adorns the landscape along the Zirbenweg. What makes this run the XL version is the ascent to the beautiful Neunerspitze & Viggarspitze.
